what does this say and what would i say to respond? What are some other good basic conversation saying in gernan?
Best Answer
It means, 'how are you?', or in literal translation- 'how goes it with you?'. A typical response to this would be 'es gehts mir gut', which means, 'i'm good', or 'it goes well with me'. You could also replace 'gut' with 'schlect' or 'nicht so gut' for 'bad' or 'not so good'. Hope this helps!

It's the formal version of how are you? or the real translation is how goes it you? You who idl say it to someone older than you or of a higher rank like your boss/teacher or someone.
