if you are using dial up now you are downloading at at a maximum rate of 56kbps, but depending on your telephone lines you might be as low as 14kbps. so 768kbps would be a big increase in speed. when i had dial up i paid $10 a month, but now have 768kbps dsl an pay $15 per month. plus with dsl you can still use your telephone while you are on the internet. with dsl your computer is always connected to the internet, as long as it it turned on. hope this helps. if i can be of any futher help you can email me and i will try to answer your question.

768 is on the low (slow) end as far as DSL goes, but it is still almost 15 times faster than dial-up.

And Verizons price is often cheaper than dial-up!

786 is amazingly good for a house person. in case you percentage yor internet connection or have a on the spot router and many computers using that connection i'd propose going a touch more suitable to 1024. even with the indisputable fact that if the fee is ideal keep the 786.

SBC/AT&T have a special for $12.99 a month. If it isn't cheaper than that don't get it!
