Turn signals?

I have a 99 Dodge Caravan and recently the turn signal stopped working on the left side. When I hit the switch none of the interior indicators light up and neither the front or rear signal lights up, but when I push the Hazard button they both light up. I've already replaced every fuse and bulb for all the lights and the signal switch. Can someone please tell me whats wrong with my van?

i own a repair shop, and it has a flasher that plugs in to the fuse box,it has gone bad on it,this is whats causing it not to flash when there turned on,if it isn't in the fuse box,it will be real close to it,,it round and shiny, you,ll recognize it when you see it,there are two of them down there one is for the emergency flashers,be sure and get the right one you,ll know if you don't,good luck i hope this help,s.

Start out by looking at turn signal lights front and back, - does either one work? I assume that you have checked both bulbs. (you can just switch bulbs form one side to the other "Substitution" proves that the bulbs are good, (and you don't have to buy extra bulbs unless one checks bad). If you have electronic turnsignal "blinker" it may not work at all without proper resistance in circuit. Two bulbs have less resistance than one (since they work in parallel). I also think that both "blinker boxes" are there on the fuse box, or very close, you can switch them and see if it makes any difference (would not blink-probably),- but might make light in-dash light -- with a bad bulb in circuit. This is where you check your "grounds for both rends)!

There is also a possibility that the plug where the wires from the turn signal assembly plug into the wiring for the rest of the vehicle, ( down by left side of the steering column - with trim panel below the steering column removed). Check and make sure that they are securely plugged in - if no results, pull them apart and look carefully inside both ends of the plug - at the contacts- make sure thaty aren't broken or burnt!

Next thing, turn on parking lights, and see if you get any other activity,- if you have "floating" ground on one,- or both ts bulbs, you may get all kinds of "wierd" results both from brakes and ts operation! Like bulbs going "dim" when they should be "bright" or maybe going out all together in some cases!

Last observation, - I don't totally understand description " about pushing the hazzard button "and they both light up"! Do you mean that the left side works then,-- or do you mean all 4 work like they should? If pushing on the hazzard button makes the turn-signals work right, then you have a problem in the switch, maybe it is just oxidation in contacts, (in which case putting the 4-way on and off about a dozen times or more might clean them up enough that they work right!) Hopefully the problem is not damaged switch,- as the 4way and the trun signal switch are in a single composite assembly, and they will both have to be replaced, this is moderately expensive and a pain in the neck to do, as you have to remove the steering wheel and a bunch of other stuff (including airbag connections and asscociated wiring), - to get down the the ts switch. Unless you know what you are doing, and work carefully, you could "blow" the bag, and mess things up, (possibly even hurting yourself)! Naturally you do all this with the battery disconnected. Hopefully you don't have anti-theft alarm system, or you will mess this up too! (when batery is disconnected)

sounds like you may need to replace your "flasher switch". should be located in the fuse block under dr. side of the dash. Most are round and bare metal.

could be the turn signal lever thing..they go bad

    does the Right work?

could also be something electrical..like a short in the wiring.
