I think once a person feels and knows they are in love, they are

obviously someone very young cant know for sure but if it is not for anything phyiscal, or stuff like that like showing off, just for looks and things like that.

If it is really just emotional, it probably is

    I hope that helps

You and your bf are experiencing what love is at 17. Love has different levels of maturity that come with a combination of age and experience. As a person matures his/her outlook on life is different and you are able to make choices based on your experiences.

For example, when I was much younger and in love I couldn't go a few hours much less a day without talking to or seeing the one I loved. Now I know that when you truly love and trust someone and not have to be sitting up under one another 24/7. You realize the importance of having separate interests and doing things with friends - even going away with friends.

What if your boyfriend said, "I'm going to go away for a few days with my buddies and I probably won't get to call you a whole lot because we're going to be on the go the whole time?" Would that upset you? At 17 and depending upon your level of maturity it probably would. Whereas at 40 it might not upset you at all because you've grown to trust this person and you're looking forward to the time alone to pursue some things you've been wanting to do.

That is why some people say "you're too young." It's simply because as you mature so does how you look at love and relationships.

First of all congrats on your feelings. Love comes in many forms and changes all the time. Think about it do you love this guy more then you did when you dated someone at 14? The older you get the more comfortable you are with yourself. All I know is that love is unconditional. For right now, just enjoy the feeling you have when you are around him. If it is 'true' love nothing will take that away from you. Don't worry about your age, worry about how much fun you have together.

There's not an age limit. You can fall in love at any time. But for the love to last it takes both people to share in the responsibilities to maintain it properly. Love is a lot of hard work . It's understanding, honesty. loyalty. trust, sharing, caring, knowing when to let something go and knowing when you need to forgive. Love is many, many things that all work together as one. When you can learn what those things all are and you can embrace them all on the same level then you'll do just fine.

I met my hubby when I was 17. Now 8 years later we have a 5 year old and still feel the same way we did back then. So yes you can be in love at 17.

  • This is a very difficult question. Consider the fact that our grandparents generation got married around 13yo. And in my case, I got married when I was 19yo. Not because I had to. It took us 15 years to get pg with our first child. We were most definitely in love at 19yo & started our lives together. I'm NOT suggesting you do the same thing.

I don't know that there's an age limit on being in love. I believe it's an individual thing.

I was in love when I was 15. Now, I will say that I loved with the mentality of a 15 year old, and the older I got that love got deeper. But yes, I was in really in love at your age.

    No doubt!

It is my belief that age cannot effect the spirit of love between people. But people have big ideas about what is acceptable or not, and so in that way you might be meeting with some opposition.....but I don't doubt it when someone forms an affection for someone else!
