What is the best way to raise a Kitten?

Lot of love. Keep it safe from houseplants (some are poisonous), protect anything kitty may knock down by moving such items to better locations.

Keep the kittens water fresh, make sure you litter train it (most instinctively know all about litter), and use a good kitten food. I would suggest dry food, with a treat of canned food once a week.

Of course lots of love and attention. Best to keep your animal inside, as there are many dangers outside (and fleas) to a young cat.

Make sure the kitty sees the vet and gets its shots. Have the animal spayed or neutered at 6 months of age. De-clawing is your option, but I have ours done.

As for toys, a kitten can be happy with a plastic milk cap, bread ties, or a piece of paper. Or you can buy toys at any reputable pet store.

    GOOD LUCK and have fun!!

Make sure you give the kitten a healthy, balance diet of premium food. Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Wellness are all some decent dry foods. We supplement this with canned food daily. Their favorite is Science Diet (for a kitten, choose the "blue label" - none of them ever liked the green label).

Be sure to have the kitten examined by your veterinarian and give the recommended "distemper" and rabies shots. (Rabies is required by law in most places). Prepare a list of questions before you visit. :-)

In addition to food, warmth, vaccinations & checking for parasites, your kitten will need lots of love and tender care to thrive. The early socialization will last a lifetime. :-)

  • The same way you would a child, patience, understanding, love, nurturing, and all that with a good diet and regular vet check ups you will be a great kitten parent and have a well adjusted adult cat who loves you and respects you in return and a great friend.

with love attention and firm discipline followed by love. Do not overfeed and don't give milk. my kitten likes a shoelace tied like i tie my shoes to play with, but only when i am around and she loves mice or toys that squeak or rattle.

If you don't want them on table or counters or furniture you need to start right away with slapping a newspaper rolled up and hit the chair, table whatever, not the cat. it may take awhile because kittens see all kinds of things to explore up above them, but with love and consistence you will have the kitten you wanted.

never put a leash on it and dont keep it locked up inside. Give it food and drink every day. Be kind to it. Besides that its pretty much up to you what you choose.
