basically you have players and team defenses that can be from any team that get you points based on how they do in the current week. in the standard mode there are 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 team defense on every starting roster. there are bench positions for players on your team that are not starting because you have better options, they are on bye, etc. you can also add players that no one else has on there team and drop players you have on your team that you dont want anymore. there are usually an even number of teams in each league, and you go head-to-head to see who gets the most points. you go through to week 13 or 14 and then you start playoffs. regular season standings are usually ranked by winning percentage first, then tie breakers are total season # of points, then head to head rankings. it is rare that it will go past that. in the playoffs, if you have a number of teams that are divisible by 2 but not 4, the first 2 teams get a bye week 1st week. you play sudden death until someone wins.
