Not as far as I know. I live right outside of Detroit, and we see tons of reptiles in this area. I suppose it depends on the type of reptile, such as poisonous or dangerous, but those laws are pretty much general anywhere you go.
You can go online and look at city ordinances, to try to help you determine if you can have the reptile that you want. Also, if you don't already have it, before you buy one, you may want to investigate reptile vets in the area. Even new reptiles can have significant problems, and the pet store is not a reliable source of medical information. It is best to be prepared for any problems that arise.Source(s): ER vet
