The DVD costs around 30 cents to make from scratch. The most expensive part of the process is the artwork, printing and packaging believe it or not. We can produce around 40,000 per day.
P.S. most people dont know it but DVD's are actually 2 seperate disks that are glued together!

Considering you can buy a blank one for only a few cents, the DVD itself mustn't cost much at all. Production costs would be part of it, but even then you can pick up a crappy old movie for about a dollar so that obviously doesn't play into it
Therefore much of the profit must go towards the rights to produce and sell the DVD and paying the CEOs of various companies millions a year to holiday in the Caribbean. -
just for one dvd it's not that much it's the whole project that costs them a lot

How much does it actually cost these companies to make a DVD?
On one hand we're being charged £20 for a movie & on the other theyre giving the bloody things away for free in newspapers...
