I found this site, which lists some of the chat acronyms...

The ones I see most are *lol* (with and without the stars) and *rofl* (again, with and without the stars). Apparently these two are now being combined, which makes sense...

So, I guess in future, I should be saying *lol* instead of "Ha Ha Ha!" ...hmmmm...
