Every Year On the dark nights if Diwali the sound of firecrackers announces the celebration of the favourite festival of Indians. Homes are decorated, sweets are distributed by everyone and thousands of lamps lit to create a world of fantasy. Of all the festivals celebrated in India, Diwali is by far the most glamorous and important. Enthusiastically enjoyed by people of every religion, its magical and radiant touch creates an atmosphere of joy and festivity. Diwali is one of the most significant and most celebrated Hindu Festivals in India. Diwali Festival in India is regarded as the 'Festival of Lights'. On the Diwali Day people light up diyas and candles all around their house and in the streets. The illumination on Diwali signifies end of darkness which stands for ignorance and beginning of knowledge symbolized by lights that shall enlighten all. People celebrate Diwali with loved ones by exchanging Diwali greetings and Diwali Gifts like sweets and dry fruits..

Many an august moons ago, when "photons", encouraged by their energetic leader, Swami Superstrings, decided to take a well-deserved extended Alaskan vacation (in reality a general strike), the good people of India started missing them terribly. ... But the photons refused to come back until the people finally admitted that it was their own ignorance that had made the photons so exhausted in the first place by leaving unnecessary lights on all night. The Diwali tradition began when the wasteful humans eventually decided to change their improvident ways and compensate the overworked photons with sweet colorful treats and candlelight photonic mates of their own.

Diwali is the festival of light.
Many years ago,Lord Ram with his brother Lakshman and his wife Sita after 14yrs. returned back to his kingdom Ayodhya after killing Ravan. So,for the happiness, the subjects lightend Ayodhya.From that time Diwali is celebrated.

Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, a festivel of Lights. Its also a celebration for the victory of an avatar of Hindu God over an Evil. Celebrated by lighting lamps, Sharing joy like firing crackers, new clothes, sweets, freinds, get together.....

It is a Hindu festival of lights. Legend says that a demon called Ravanah was tormenting the people and kept them in darkness and so the Lord Krishna came to destroy the demon and since that day onwards, the people were able to see light again.
