In the Catcher in the Rye, what symbols are used to help the better understanding of Holden and how/why?
The book the Catcher in the Rye uses plenty of symbols to help the better understanding of Holden, but I can't quite put a finger on a really good one besides the red hunting hat, the snowball, and the carosel. Please give me some explanations of the use of symbols in this book. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

How about his baseball glove, the one with the poetry written all over it? I think this let's you see a deeper side of Holden. Let's you know that he has a little more inner substance then is readily apparent.
