A bit more information would help but let me give you a couple of suggestions on style and approach.

Never ever interject personal bias...your own philosophy if it is called for but make sure it is stated as that..neutral and not as fact.

Include as many different philosophical views relating to your subject. Don't make any judgmental statements while doing this.

Integrate examples of not just academic supposition but real life examples where possible.

Support your final conclusion(s) with positive reasons and don't attack other philosophies...everyone believes their philosophy on any subject is valid...as do you and I.

I hope this helps and gives you some ideas.

The United states is the most culturally diverse country that has ever existed on this planet. With all its subcultures, there still is a sense of unity. I would suggest comparing two sociological theories, the conflict theory and the functionalist theory and how both theories can be used to describe how the subcultures conflict and how they function together as a whole.

    Just a thought.

An essay is a short work of writing that treats a topic from an author's personal point of view. Essays are non-fictional but often subjective; while expository, they can also include narrative. Essays can be learned arguments, literary criticism, political manifestos, observations of daily life, recollections and reflections of the author.

The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays (Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism and An Essay on Man). While today an essay is partly defined by its brevity, voluminous works like John Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding and Thomas Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population refer to themselves using the term.

Well the more we all try to be diverse in our own way, the more we are all the same. If everyone is trying to be different, isn't everyone ending up the same?
