First of all death is a misused word. Death implies an end whereas in truth it is a transition of two natural states. I am, what is commonly called, a near death experiencer. During a massive heart attack in 1966, I watched the doctor and nurse try to revive me while the EKG showed no heart beat, no breathing, and no electrical activity. I was greeted by a small group of solemn men instructing me as to my remaining life here on earth. What I saw was so beautiful I argued that I wanted to stay with them but was told I couldn't. Mrs Atwater wrote my story in her book, "Near Death for Idiots". It is the chapter named "A nurse's mistake". It is greatly abbreviated but true. Much research has gone into this subject. Look up Dr. Schwartz of the University of New Mexico.
While on the other side, I was given the ability to heal personally and at a distance. Toward this I started a free healing service: www.internationalhealers.org
