I'd rather choose a bible than reading a novel book because a bible can show me the right way on how to seek for the glory of GOD while a novel book may somewhat interest you but cannot bring you to GOD.

Hello!! :o) As a Christian - I'd rather read a NOVEL!! Surprised? Well... you shouldn't be. A NOVEL doesn't threaten to 'convict' me like the Bible does. I can dismiss what I read in a novel - but I can't dismiss what I read in the Bible. The Bible can be a scary thing for a Christian to read. [sometimes] That said... if I could only have one book - I'd choose the Bible. [without question] Sometimes I wonder about those who talk glowingly about the Bible. My grandmother said she read the Bible from cover to cover several times. I always wondered - did she read it with her eyes closed? Or did she just skip past the parts commanding her to love her neighbours and to be kind and thoughtful, etc. Some Christians make the mistake - I think - of assuming that it's their responsibility to 'act as if' they are unquestionably, undeniably comfortable with anything and everything they read in the Bible. I just don't think that's being honest or realistic. Perhaps the most difficult thing to BE is a 'true Christian' - which is why most Christians aren't. [at least not all of the time] Admitting to the struggle of trying to live ones life AS a follow of Christ - I think - would prove to be a more powerful witness. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

I would choose to read the Bible. I have read many good novels but I got tired of reading fiction many years ago. I've read the Bible many times and always find something that applies to me in a new way. I guess I'm picky about authors. I haven't found any writers of novels recently that are good writers. The Bible was written by the Holy Spirit. There is no better writer than Him.

Sit down and read the Bible sometime like you would any other book. There are some very interesting stories in there and I have found many answers to questions about life too. I would choose the Bible because not only is it interesting but I believe it is truth.

i dont know what you mean about "novel book".

if you are asking if i would rather read the kjv bible, or read a book written in dramatic style that is true to the bible, then i would rather read the novel.

my favourite bible is still the comic book format of the kjv. all of the stories of the old and new testament are there and it makes the reading fun....while you still learn!!!!!

These are not mutually exclusive, hopefully reading the bible cultivates spirituality, where as novels are generally read for entertainment.

The majority of my reading is Scripture. I have read the entire bible more times than I can count and I am always in awe of the power of the living Word of God.

It depends on if I'm looking for hope for my life or wanting to escape life. If I'm looking for hope, I read Psalms 91. If I'm tired and wanting to clear my mind of the days events, I like reading a Christian novel. Frank Pratti (not sure about the spelling of his last name) is my favorite author. I recommend, Monster, piercing the Darkness and This present Darkness.
