Is ink a mixture?

yes and no, a mixture is defined as mixing chemical elements without chemical bonding or change. So printer ink doesn't fit that because the dyes used in the ink are chemically bonded to prevent bleeding in the print process. However, the definition of ink is a liquid containing various pigments and or dyes used for coloring a surface to make an image or text. Tattoo inks are dyes suspended in a carrier solution that is absorbed into the body, leaving the dye behind. Mix copper pthalocyanine with purified water or rubbing alcohol and you get a blue ink mixture.
