    Radio electromagnetic waves were discovered by Hertz in 1864

    Marconi invented radio in 1894

    Fessenden made the first voice transmission in 1906

    Pittsburgh was the first city with a music radio transmission in 1919

    Payola was introduced in the late 1950's for having air time for the music of singing artists

    Gold and Silver was used to pay for goods in the 1860's

    In 1860 they used the suits and dress like any spaguetti western - cowboy movie

    Didn't cost but people were lucky to have one. 1919 was the earliest, after telegraph... without them may not had radio.

    Barter was more common. And clothes were more commonly made out of flour sacks which actually were done in pretty materials.

    My grandparents were alive in the 1860s.

    I remember them telling me when I was young that they all lived in trees and dressed like Tarzan.

    Of course they couldn't speak - just grunt.

    Reading the news was quite hard - they had to queue up to go into a cave to see the drawings.

    And - this is the hardest part to believe - there was no MacDonald's! Only Dinosaurs

    Shock, horror!
