communism is a great idea......that was screwed up by human nature.....discuss?

from each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs.....that seems like a good idea to me. So why have we given up on it as a race? surely the propblem is human nature (wanting more than the guy next door). Or do you think that if communism was successful it would result in the stagnation of the human race?

Yes - communism is the perfect system.

Unfortunately, human nature isn't really compatible with communism. There are always people who want more than they need - people who want to be in control and run things - and that ends up making communism so it doesn't work. The Soviet Union was a perfect example. Instead of making everybody equal - there became a "ruling class" that was "more equal" that got better stuff than everybody else, that had access to better services, and generally had a superior quality of life than the average person.

It's interesting to note that the "true Communism" that Karl Marx invisioned has never actually taken place.

Communism (ideologically) is impossible and while it might seem to be a good system, it ultimately fails as the motivation factor to exceed crumbles. It is a device to create some equality and can be harsh to the middle and upper classes, but it begins to fail and an impetus for motivation and ingenuity is needed and that becomes personal gain. I live in China, and while the Communist party is still the driving force in the government, the government promotes both foreign and individual enterprises. They recognize that profit will make people strive towards higher goals and now a joint project has made a Chinese oil company the third largest in the world and listed on Wall Street exchange. I live in China and I see a change towards democracy as people prepare to move into the future.

Communism in suited variety is a suited difficulty imagined via Karl Marx and others. It finally grew to develop right into a sparkling faith - only like different old religions. The non secular leaders could desire to have sturdy purpose - they preached some thing they believed might do sturdy to the worldwide. however the followers deviated from that teachings. yet another remember - orthodoxy. notwithstanding the old faith dictated must be obeyed to not be puzzled. Marxists did the comparable. After revolution everywhere the leaders grew to develop into unquestioned god adult adult males. That created the project of dictatorship. not purely human greed - communism in organic variety is amazingly crude - state will wither away - barter no money -cohesion of the employees everywhere in the globe. The essence of Marxism won't be in a position to be thrown into waste paper basket. Russia and China the two grew to develop into great powers by way of Marxist revolution.

It's a horrible idea, it perverts the very nature of individual rights to life, property and the pursuit of happiness. Besides if something doesn't fit with human nature, than how could it possibly be a good idea for governing humanity. That makes no sense

Various forms of communism probably include unions, federations, commonwealthsm, etc. etc. There is ,however, diffrence with regard to degree of cooperative coercion preferred by diffrent actors in diffrent conditions. Extreme forms of communism may fit in societies with seriously defective social and political systems for certain reformative periods. Capitalism also canot be successful by placing all the resources and capital only in few hands as it causes economic shrinkage in the medium and long run. Anything in its extreme is bad. There is no use of creation for destruction and destruction for creation. There is something greater beyond shortsighted selfish egos.

The stagnation, Why would I work if I could get the same life and not work. Communism was thought up by a bum that did not want to work.

Capitalist systems will come undone (ROME TOO WAS ONCE A POWERFUL NATION) for the very same reason as communism has and will. GREED. Either system will work very well if people are not greedy for money and power.. Good "folks" help each other with what every they have. Greedy "folks" take every advantage and opportunity to enrich only themselves..

Communism always results in the extermination of many of the human race.

Communism ignores the basic attributes of human nature. There is no incentive to produce when your needs are guaranteed to be filled. Capitalism, by rewarding those who produce, provides incentive to produce. Most of us want to improve ourselves, our lot in life, and leave out progeny better off than we are. If no one has to produce, that is impossible.

your completely right. Communism is an ideal, but because people are easily corrupted it always goes wrong. Unfortunately the alternative of capitalism is preferable, although still open to corruption.
