i have universal oil primer to be applied on wood as well as pots...it is very thick,can i add turpentine?

how to use it...should it be of the consistency of paint?

    primers are usually acrylic. Is this a house paint primer? It doesn't sound like an art primer.

    This may seem like a ridiculous answer...but, aren't there suggested usage directions on the package? I would be wary of adding turpentine to a primer without knowing what the effects would be... Sounds like a potential poisoning to me. :) My best suggestion, if they don't make it clear on the bottle, is to give the manufacturer a jingle, just to be on the safe side.

    You won't get much painted if you're lying asphixiated on the floor... :)
