I know what you are going throuh. I went through this last year when my partner quit his job with no warning and I was left to provide for him, myself, AND our son. It was far from easy. One thing that you could do, is try to consolidate any debt that you might have. Credit cards, car loans, etc. This will eliminate a lot of interest you are accumulating, and will most likely allow for one, lower monthly payment, rather than several. Coupons! Coupons! Coupons! Does your child attend daycare? If so, cut back as much as possible by asking family and friends for help. You'd help them if they needed it, right? Does your state offer assistance? I live in MN. I can say that I am very lucky to live here, as MN is good about helping you out when you need it. Look into things like WIC and daycare assistance. What about low income housing? There are places that will discount your rent if you are considered low-income. Very nice places! Good luck to you and I hope you find work soon!
