You are right about the contradictory info out there. When it comes to any kind of non medical drug during pregnancy, alcohol and cigarettes included, I believe that common sense is the most reliable issue. Remember that if you abuse of any of these drugs, it may affect your baby in several ways, but I know several mothers that smoked weed during pregnancy and their sons and daughters are entirely normal and healthy, but you have to keep in mind that you shouldn´t abuse it. One of my best friends, mother of three, never did stop smoking marijuana during pregnancy, but she did lower the quantity, she used to smoke only half a join once a week, and most of the time once a month. Same thing with cigarettes and alcohol, I know some friends that lowered the amount of cigarettes to one every month at the beginning, and then they completely stop, and alcohol as well, only a beer or a glass of wine once a month at the beginning and then stop. You should ask several doctors about marijuana during pregnancy anyway, specially your family doctor, you should know that not all pregnancies are the same, perhaps what was good for my friends is not as good as you might think to your own baby, and that is something to consider. As I said, common sense is your best guide.
