How about some chili sauce from those little round bottles, some horse radish and some dark beer, like Guiness.Balsamic vinegar is good too.Cut the acidity with a pinch of sugar.

Try some horseradish. It is tangy and a little sweet at the same time. Not too much or your sauce will taste like cocktail sauce.

A lot of things can give barbecue sauce it depends what type of tang yo want. If you're using a premixed or homemade you can add lemon juice, vinegar, or some bitters. If you like the tang of spice add some Tabasco or some Cayenne pepper. Use your imagination what are some flavors that you find interesting and then add them to the sauce.

Just a squeeze of lime juice will do the trick.
