Of the 4 northern colonies, (massachusetts, rhode island, connecticut, and new hampshire), which one was the largest around the early 1700's? Establishment-wise. Thanks.

Massachusetts because it then included what is now Maine, the largest of the six New England states.

Easily the great state of Massachusetts!!!! It was a commercial hub in the New World, shipping products back to Europe. It was politically well established, a booming white population and also geographically was huge: in 1700 New Hampshire was still part of Mass.
