You need to delete some files that you no longer need of buy a larger hard disk.

First, run Windows Explorer and check every folder. Delete all files with extensions $**, ~** and TMP and other unimportant downloaded files. Next, run disk clean-up (START-ALL PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-DISK CLEANUP) and clear all listed. Third, uninstall all demo game programs and old programs. Run disk defragmentation after that to speed up disk access. If you still get the message, add another hard disk. As much as possible, the free space on any harddisk should be at least 20% of its storage capacity.

You need to look at your files and see what's taking up the most space, if there's anything you don't need then delete it, if you have a lot of pictures for instance you could put them on a CD. Right click on some files and click on 'properties' and look at the size of the file, if it's about 100 MB you should probably put the contents on a CD and then delete it.
Also get rid of any programs you don't use any more, maybe if you have two programs that do the same thing you could get rid of one of them.
Oh, and empty your recycle bin regularly.

Well,i really am no pc genius at all,but my mate taught me to do two things to keep a pc running smoothly..how to defragment the disk..and also how to use the scandisk occasionally.....i cannot do a whole lot more as yet,i am still learning, but i do these two tasks once a week, and have loads of free space, apparently its good for your pc!

running shortage? is that what you mean? if so it might be that you are running low on your hard drive space.
Now i know that sometimes DVD drives would send error messages, but usually us buffer size.
So my closes theory is that is a hard drive error meaning that you dont have enough space.
Try to delete some music, videos, apps that you dont use. Run and antivirus and maybe defragment your hard drive.

Try emptying the recycle bin, cookies, browser history and using Disk Cleanup in [Accessories>System tools] to clean temp files.

This simply means, your hard disc is almost full. For this, start deleting unwanted files or copy wanted files and then delete thosefiles , so that you can increase your hard disc space.

Remove some old programs, you can do this by going to start - control panel - add or remove programs
Once that opens look for any programs that you never use, and click on remove
