In California it's usually around $3 to $4, but like everything else here, water cost more than in the rest of the country. The price we pay for living in the most beautiful state.

Yes if its still good shelters will take the dog food as well here in Canada any dog food or treats that my dogs as well maintained dog toys that my dogs don't want anymore. I donate them to PETLAND who in return drop it off to shelters and/or foodbank to help those feed the animals. If you have a foodbank there check with them if they have a family with pets that could use the dog food. You would be suprised that there is families out there that would like the extra help.

Shelters are usually happy to take food even if the bag has been opened. Thanks for thinking of this - it would be shame for it to go to waste.
