This is the phony catch-phrase words used to justify high C.E.O. pay packages.
They copy off each other, as follows:
"We have to remain competitive in order to attrack and retain best management prospects".
Every C.E.O. is paid too much, and they distort this by showing modest salary compensation of only several hundred thousand dollars, but the stock options and "golden parachutes" show millions upon millions of bucks being paid EVEN when the corporation they run isn't profitable!
