i do not see a settings button on my start menu can you please explain to me simply how to get it?

    Hi Helen,

    Looks like you're using Windows XP. Windows XP customizes your Start button according to your usage. Control Panel is right there when you click Start.

    However, if you are not comfortable with the new look and field, you can go back to the Classic Interface.

    To do this, click Start and then click "Control Panel". Double click "Task bar and Start Menu". Now go to "Start Menu" tab and choose "Classic Start Menu". Now you will have the familiar Start Menu with the settings button.

    Right click on taskbar-----properties-----Advanced---startmenusettings------selectall the check boxes u will be able to see the settings

    right click, go to properties and therein lies settings
