Well it is something that even I as a Christian face also so first of all know that you are not the only one going through this. Now there are certain things that we as human do that do not please GOD but we are not perfect. What counts is when you try and GOD will see your heart. And about feeling guilty i always remember the parable about the Prodigal Son. The father in the story is like God. Even though sometimes we may be far from our father like the son in the story, GOD can still see us from very far away and he is out there with open arms to embrace us. But we must ask GOD to forgive us and mean it.

Do not worry read that story it is in LUKE. It will help out a lot and you are not the only one in the world that feels like that. Just ask GOD to give you strength.

It sounds like you are trying to live the Christian life in your own power, which is impossible to do. It is only possible to live an obedient life through Jesus Christ. You need to learn what it means to surrender every minute of every day to Jesus and His power and will. That takes practice. Try talking to God throughout the day about all the things that concern you, or make you laugh, or surprise you, or make you sad, etc. If your best friend was sitting next to you throughout the day, what are the things you would share with him or her? Talk about these things with God all day long.

Set aside some time every day to read the Bible and ponder the things you learn there. Don't try to go it alone. Make sure you go to church and really connect with other people there, especially with those who seem to be wise and know their Bible well. You need to learn from people who remember what it was like to be where you are and yet, have moved on in their spiritual walk. Ask for help. If you feel that you can't be yourself and admit your failings at your church, keep looking for a church body where the people are "real" and accept each other's failings--two things that are very important to spiritual growth. God Bless.

Back sliding can be a problem for any believer. I backslided and went totally down hill. I became a alcoholic and chased prostitutes. It took me 5 years to come back to the Lord. However, I found out one thing about back sliding. It takes a choice to committing to changing your world. And what I mean is this, it takes a committment that I am going to keep away from certain people and places. You have to get rid of the old friends in the world that are dragging you down. People have spirits which will seduce you and make war on you to keep you in the world. If you are going to stop back sliding you have to be willing to cut off the worldly things you enjoy. The scripture says, "Do not be deceived evil character, corrupts good character".

Everyone is going to mess up now and again, that's not backsliding, backsliding is sliding back into a lifestyle void of God. All Christians sin on occasion, when you do you need to repent- realize you have done wrong, confess your sin and Jesus will forgive you. Don't worry, there is no "right" way to pray. Just talk to God like you would anyone else. :) Congratulations on being a new Christian!!!

Remember what Jesus told the Desciples in the book of Acts. He didnt say go and wait until you can do it on your own or are good enough. He said go and wait for the power form God which is the Holy Spirit. I promise that if you work on hearing the Holy Spirit and communion with God the backsliding will vanish. The key to a consistent Christian life is the realisation that you have nothing to do with it and turn your focus from improving yourself to improving your relationship with Christ. You dont be a good Christian to get close to god, you get close to God to be a good Christian. Hope that helps

    Service With Strength

    Colossians 1:10-12

Ministry isn’t something we do, but rather, it is something God does through us. So much fatigue and failure could be avoided if believers remembered that He is the source of strength. We serve Him using Spirit-provided resources. “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass,” promises the Word (1 Thessalonians 5:24). This means that the Lord assumes responsibility for enabling His children to carry out whatever work He calls them to do.

The Savior exemplifies this principle — He also did His earthly work through divine power. Upon His return from the wilderness, Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit, and He came preaching a Gospel of repentance. Here is what He said of Himself: “Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works” (John 14:10).

As co-heirs with Christ, believers are entitled to access that same spiritual strength. What a comfort to know that a divinely ordained ministry is not in our hands alone! Some other person may be able to do the work better or offer wider experience, but God does not look for servants who are gifted. He instead seeks out those willing to live in His strength. If we have done all we can through the power of the Holy Spirit, then we never have to wonder if we have done enough.

Are you discouraged? Tired? Ready to give up? God is ready to restore you to joyful service if you will simply ask Him to do His work through you.

First of all, if you are certain that you have asked Jesus to come into your heart by faith, you have took the main step. We all who are Christians should always try to do better, but God does not expect us to live perfect lives. All Christians backslide at certain times, including myself. All we can do is ask for God to forgive us, and He will always do so. Jesus' blood took care of all of our sins; past, present, and future. The devil is working harder than ever before to make it hard on Christians. As long as you are truly doing your best, that is all that God expects. Just be sure to pray everyday, and stay in the Word of God. I always ask God to forgive me for my sins which I have committed before I go to bed; even the sins that I don't even realize that I have committed. For we all fail God; every Christian. So do not allow the devil to put you under condemnation. God's Word tells us that if God be for us, who can be against us. Jesus has already won the battle for every one of us who will believe it and trust Him. May God Bless you.

you are not the only one to feel that feeling of backsliding. i've been a catholic my entire life and i get that feeling as well. what i do is i do anything that makes me feel closer to God. sometimes its praying, meditating, etc. as long as you are trying to become better and you ask for forgiveness when you sin, you are on the right track.

Whatever you feel in your heart is proper enough prayer for GOD.

He loves you very dearly no matter what... strive to return that love by being the perfect image of GOD's love... but remember that he always loves you so do not be discouraged.

    Love go with you.
