does christian dominionism bother you too?
maybe im paranoid but there seems to be a growing problem here.
Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans. Ralph Reed, the executive director of the conservative public policy group the Christian Coalition has criticized Reconstructionism as "an authoritarian ideology that threatens the most basic civil liberties of a free and democratic society."
Wake up. Take a stand. Do something. By allowing this insidious agenda to progress, we are sowing the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious nut-jobs are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.
thank you duckphup:) yes you gave me the idea to write the question.

nope. doesn't bother me because I am secure in the Lord and the Truth in the Bible. Sorry, but that's not how this world will come to an end. Better quit worrying about dominionism and worry more about making sure you know where you will end up when the Lord returns.

I don't think it's quite that extreme... could it ever be.. possibly, but I think it would be very hard considering people like myself and others who keep up on politics and the government will try to stop them and/or speak out against it. I also think that a lot is going to change once Bush is out of office. I also think (although I really hate to pick sides because both sides have their problems) that there is a good chance the Democratic party will take over in the next election and that is sure to bring about some changes as well. I look forward to an administration that stops with this "family value" stuff- I think it would be better titled "Christian Values,"- as if other religions didn't have values, pff.

These people don't understand that they are not judge and jury and trust me when I say they will face their own judgement. Armageddon is going to happen whether they accomplish this or not. It's a fact that it's going to happen. As far as using the old testament to make all these government rules, that's why Jesus was nailed to the cross, God knew that as sinners we would never be able to live up to these rules, therefore He sent his only begotten Son. To die for our sins so that we would be able to ask for forgiveness. The end is drawing near. What these people don't understand is that they are playing right into satans hands. They are carrying out his dirty work which is to turn as many people away from God as he possibly can. He was cast from heaven to earth and is pissed because he knows he has a very short time left. Rest assured these over zealous will be punished. God never intended for people to take His word to the extremes that they do.

Yeah, I've read all of this too and yeah it does make me a bit afraid but the thing is the vast majority of Americans would never go for this. The Dominionists are a very small minority and most Americans are aware that what they stand for goes against the Constitution. There ARE people out there who are standing up against them, politicians being among them. I don't think it'll ever go that far. If for some warped reason they do succeed I can see major rebellion going on not to mention a mass exodus from the US. But they won't. They're not fooling everyone.

This kind of thing only makes you seem nuts.
Like Ronald Reagan was supposed to be the Anti-christ.
You don't seem unintelligent, but you are misguided ( and wrong).
No one can pave the way to:
1) Usher in the Ruling era of Christ,
2) Usher in Armagedon.
Yet both will happen.
But I guess if I am a Christian, it's all crazy anyway, huh?
I recognized your intelligence.
Will you recognize mine?

Are you on drugs? That is the silliest, most idiotic thing you have done. Just because you personally hate Christians is no reason to deliberately make up wild stories about them to try to turn other people against them. This is exactly what Hitler did to the Jews, and muslims do it to Christians and Jews daily. It is a terrible thing this hatred you have, watch out it doesn't eat you up.

that's exactly what the Li'l Abner wing of christianity is after. And, they make no secret of it. the different flow that brazenly recruits "sinners" (social deviates, criminals, perverts etc), demands that they have get right of entry to to our young ones for applications of indoctrination and advocates national/international domination could be regular through fact the evil stress that's and snuffed out by patriotic human beings, somewhat rational christians, in a remember of days. although, the yank public has grow to be so terrorized by the prospect of being labeled "anti-christian," that they willingly overlook on the subject of the actuality of the prospect. Our forefathers have been completely attentive to the prospect those components pose to a unfastened u . s . and took magnificent steps (in historic words) to shrink their effect. although, through fact the "laptop" puppets that we've become, we've allowed them to exert an inordinate point of effect on our society, our academic gadget, the media and our government, to the element that those rejects from the forged of Hee Haw at the instant are defining our historic past, technology, regulations and just about another ingredient of our lives. If no longer uncovered as, and introduced heavily as, the prospect they are to genuine American values, the flair for a Taliban-sort destiny is fairly genuine.

I think you're absolutely right. It's normal human nature for the people that are in power to use all means necessary to preserve that power, and using religion as propoganda and scare tactics has been occurring for as long as humanity has existed.
We're really only a few steps away from going back to burning witches at the stake.

I'd read about this not long ago, thanks to YA. I see these people around here all the time.
Bear in mind, Robert Heinlein was predicting this long ago. According to him, this was the -only- way to end the American democracy and turn it into an empire. One need only look at Bush II to see how close America is to this nightmare.

Yes, "Christian" denominations bother me a great deal. Fortunately is is possible to believe in Jesus whthout subscribing to a denomination.
May I suggest the following book to you? It's free, online, and you may read it or listen to it being taught to a pastor's conference by it's author, in mp3 format.
