What do you think of JJ REDICK?

JJ Redick is my favorite basketball player! I look up to him so much, he is my idol (except i don't want to be caught for drunk driving) He is so cute and has so much basketball talent! Duke is my favorite college, and since JJ is going to play for Olrando Magic I'm gonna have to follow them now! I'm very sad that Sheldon Williams left too, he was cool. Does anyone know what year Demarcus Nelson is in or did he graduate yet? What is your opinion of JJ redick?? I'm so upset that at he hurt his back so he can't try out for the Olympic Team! I am happy that Coach K is coaching it though.

JJ will be one of the greatest players in the nba. im disapointed that he could not play in the international games for the u.s. he has a pure shooting stroke probably already the best in the nba. imagine how good he will be in a few years they might as well go ahead and give him the rookie of the year award cause he is the best

JJ Redick landed in the right situation in Orlando, because the transition to the NBa will not be tough for him, but it won't be easy either. The magic have zero shooting guards...DeShawn Stevenson plays the position but he attempted about 15 3 's all of last year and missed most. So he's certainly not a shooting guard and even though stevie got 30 plus minutes consistently for the entire season he scored only 11 a game with no other statistical support in the rebounding or passing categories, and his defense is suspect. Redick will eventually hit the starting line-up and stay there once he arrives sometime this season. Redick will never be larry bird, but he won't be trajan langdon either. He'll get 15 a game during his prime, and his prime may include his rookie year, because once jj slows down his game will drop off big time.......but not to worry that will take 8-10 years, and thats if his defense doesn't get better if it does wow he'll get 40 minutes a night for a long time and be a 20 point scorer. He's short for SG but big if he happens to move to PG when nelson takes a breather which would get jj's minutes up. It will be fun watching jameer penetrating, and kicking it up to jj for years to come, and watching dwight howard setting the picks and rebounding the few misses that jj has when theres an open shot. the magic are looking good for the future, with a true PG, an undersized yet true SG in terms of what the position entails (shooting of course), they need a more explosive swingman and they 'll be fine because howard and darko are gunna clean up inside. If this team drafts a 6'7-6'8 swingman in the draft next year it will be scary in 2 years.

Mechanically, he is a very sound basketball player. The problem with JJ is he is very slow and is only thinking about himself. He isn't much of a team player and he doesn't know a thing about defense. He is very intelligent, so i'm sure he will pick up NBA style of play quickly but the problem is how much of a learning curve will he have. The Orlando Magic are a young team, and JJ is a 'tweener...not a true point guard and not physical enough to play shooting guard. If he learns to handle the ball better and pick up on defense, he can have a monster of a career in the NBA but if he remains at the same level he is at now, his career will be of a major back up who is specialized in a particular area, and that isn't his style of play.

Well, good luck..I wish JJ best of luck in the NBA.

I think he's overrated. He's a good shooter but that's about it. No doubt he was a great college basketball player, but being a great basketball player doesn't necessarily translate to being a good pro player. The NBA is full of good shooters like Redick. Sheldon on the other hand should have more of an impact at the pro level. You might start following Orlando but by the time Redick's career is over you might have followed 5 more teams.

    He's a good shooter, that's about it.

I've been watching too many Duke All Americans flop in the NBA to have anything but a wait-and-see attitude about Redick's NBA career prospects. As other posters pointed out, only Elton Brand and Grant Hill ever became All-Star quality players in the NBA (after playing college ball at Duke).

Makes me wonder why any kid with pro prospects would want to play for Coach K if an possible NBA career was in his future... You hear people say Coach K is the best coach ever, but there's no way he's anywhere near as good as John Wooden... John Wooden sent great college players to the NBA and they became great NBA players, while Coach K has sent numerous All-Americans to the NBA, only to see them flop as pros, almost without exception (Grant Hill and Elton Brand being the exceptions... Christian Laettner flat-out sucked in the NBA)..

Dude, JJ's were given a hell of a shot, yet at the same time as it is composed of the video games that remember maximum.. there is not any JJ. he's lengthy previous, he vanishes in massive video games like Karl Malone. i ought to judge JJ Redick between the biggest NCAA choke artists of all time. He optimistic had a hell of a season averaging 30+ a pastime, yet at the same time as it is composed of the tourney he merely averaged 12. Yeah, he's gonna rock in the NBA... better like get rocked.

JJ is a hell of a shooter but he can't play defense and he will be nothing more than a shooter coming off the bench...unless he gets stronger and learns to defend
