Looking for childrens book about a bus that flies - cant remember title or author?

Book read about end of 70's beginning of 80's. Suitable for age 8 ish.

    There is a series about the Magic School bus. PBS (I think) ran an animated version of it for a while.

    Magic School Bus?? Teacher was Ms. Frizzle and the schoolchildren go on crazy fieldtrips where they end up in danger somehow, but always get saved because they use their brains?

    It could be "The Magical School Bus". I think there were too many authors and each wrote a couple or more chapters.
