Vegans don't eat animal products??

I know some vegans that say they don't eat animal products yet I've watched them eat::

pancakes--(eggs)

waffels--(eggs)

noodles--(eggs)

spagetti--(eggs)

am I missing something here or are eggs not an animal product??

Update:

I've read package lables they get their products out of, also have watched them eat bread, not home made.

Update 2:

Thanks for the answers. This is something that is pretty confusing to me.

Many vegans also wear leather shoes (poor cows!), drive cars (poor dinosaurs!), & use natural gas to heat their homes (ditto cars)!

    Hooray for consistency!

eggs are an animal products, but all of the foods you have listed can be made and bought without eggs, thus still being vegan. but if your friends are eating eggs, they're not vegan.

These things don't always have eggs. I'm sure thee are eggless recipes for them somewhere...

But yes, eggs are an animal product, and vegans won't eat even honey...

if they are using eggs then they are not vegans because eggs are an animal product

they are either not true vegans or are using egg substitutes, many of the things you mention can be vegan.

They use egg-substitutes. Try looking it up, or asking one of them.
