I've used a watch list for the following reasons:
- Found an interesting question that I can't answer until tomorrow (since I had exceeded gone over my daily quota.)
- Interesting question that I'd like to see the answer to
- Interesting answer w/ a link that will come in handy for the future
- Curiosity to see which answer will be selected as the best
- Questions I want to vote on in the future
- Easy placeholder until I find the info I'm looking for (e.g. web search)

You can use it for a variety of reasons as others have demonstrated.
Personally, I have a question I answered that I got a best answer for. Because the information I provided is complex, I decided to watch my answer, so that if I see the question arise again, I can immediately access the question rather than search through the best answers I've received since answering it, or work out what the process is.

If you watch or like an interesting question just add it in your watch list by click on "add to watch list" from right of question.
Good Luck.

It's just for easier viewing, like "My favorites". You don't have to scour through tons of answered questions for the specific question/answers that you like.

so u can find out if its still open for answering or not...whatever u want it for but if u feel u don't need to do that then don't
