Almost all antique dealers have goebel catalogs that list the value at about what I would call "blue book" . If you want to know the value for insurance the above is a good method.

If you are just curious, try taking the piece to an antique dealer and ask them- strike up a conversation. You might also want to try an "Antique " Roadshow type thing. They are growing in popularity and again the local antique folks will know the when, if, where.

If your goal is to sell the item EBay is an easy way but not always the most lucrative. You might try to sell it on consignment at an antique show, with a dealer or collector. find out it's current value and then market it!

    Good luck!

    Sell it on Ebay.

The actual value of an item is how much someone is willing to pay for it.
