Why does people acting retarded to Deaf people?

Becuz they do think deaf people are stupid and sometimes that is the case BUT not every deaf person is like that. ( I'm hard of hearing and i'm hella lot smarter but sometimes deaf people take advantage of being stupid because they'll get money from the government and get whatever they want).

Ignorance!

Because people assume some sort of malformation or brain injury caused their deafness. Many people don't know that some people are just born not being able to hear and are otherwise healthy. Or they may suffer a disease that ruins their hearing leaving them deaf, but otherwise unaffected.

But, then deaf people suffer from their own ignorance. Many believe that being deaf is a culture, when it is really a physical lack of something. Both groups need to intact more with each other.

Maybe your asking why do people act strange around deaf people?maybe because they are different and people don't initially know how to act with people different from themselves due to ignorance and lack of integration?

or maybe you are asking why retarded people are acting around deaf people? I know of a few theatre groups that involve both members of deaf community and people with learning disabilities (sometimes the two combined)

People get frustrated when they cant communicate like they are used to. It's like people who, when speaking to someone who doesnt understand English, start talking louder as if the person will suddenly understand them if they talk loudly.
