Does she have ANYTHING to do with the child?

Yes, definitely. You should have been receiving child support all along. She is the mother and just as responsible for the care of your son as you are! If she won't help take her to court, you will win. Don't be ashamed that you need help with him, if the situation were reversed I am sure she would make you pay child support. Good luck!

Look - your asking the mother's help to support the child. It's not for you personally. Don't be so arrogant as to think the child should do without - just because your too proud..

Know this though, the Mother may want some added privileges. Consider your next move carefully - remembering the child comes first.

You should NOT have to ask a Mother or Father to help support their kids! But it is ashame that we have to force ppl to help take care of their own children

Dude, even if ya didn't need the help you should do it! The extra money could go towards college!

Get her to court and make her pay, try and see if you can get back-child support!!!

    Good luck!!

I suspect that if you got a lawyer and went to court she would be required to pay 2 years of back support. Of course she should pay. Do not feel guilty at all for asking her to support him. If the tables were turned, she would have been getting money from you from day 1, whether you had a job or not.

Yes I believe it is just fine,I am asking for child support from ex. and I can't see why a man can't either.Make sure you get custody too other wise it will be hard for you to keep him unless you can prove she was a bad mother. They have attorneys for fathers fighting for custody. You should really think about it other wise she can take him when ever.

Alright, you may need to go to court to have the time you have your child documented, then you could go after child support. If you want to keep the courts out of it, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask your ex for child support if the child is with you 100% of the time.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

You have every right to ask for it.. You are supporting him and she helped bring him into this world and should help with the responsibility.. If she had him I am sure she would come after you for support in a second why should it be any different.

i feel that you should ask her for help due to the fact that you know she would ask you most likely for help. explain to her the situation and ask for a X amount each month, weekly or even bi-weekly. she should understand that you are in a situation where you cannot give to your son like you want to and if she loves and cares about him enough she would give that support and she should also be aware that is HER child as well not just yours.. if she does not want to help i would contact an attorny and ask him to get you help. most women would ask their ex or babies father for help so why shouldnt you ask the ex or babies mother for help?? I would go for it. Best Wishes~

ok if i undertand well she (the mother) never take care for her baby ? what kind of mother is that, im sorry , i dont know maybe she dont want that responsability but you never know if dont ask , so if you need help and your mother or a nany dont can help you so yes talk with the mother and then watch how feel your son ( I dont want if she is angry with you , she can hurt you son) but is fine to ask first ...so good luck !!!

if you're the soul supporter of your child and your ex is being a dadbeat mom, yes you have every right to ask for support in raising a child she is abandoning.

I would suggest you speak with legal councel to get the facts of the laws and how they might work in your favor to seek support in raising your child.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. My prayers are with you
