The answer is actually 5.68 ft. Why bother memorizing the conversion formula? Just go to:

It's a nifty conversion calculator.

Other people answered this but since it's homework help, I think it's more useful to explain. There are 100 centimeters in a meter, so 1.73 meters is equal to 173 centimeters. A centimeter equals approximately .39" so multiply it out.

you're using the metric system, so I will too: I'm the same height as you are and ideal weight (BMI) for us is between 60 and 74 kg. if you're near 70 now and feel like you need to lose weight, don't - it's just because we're tall that we seem to weigh more. By the way, I weighed 72 at your age until I was 18, then my puberty ended and somehow I lost loads without even trying.

I am 173 cm tall. In life it's an easy and comfortable height, cars, beds, airplane seats, settee's all fit without problems. Is that what you wanted to know?
