Is there a way to baptise yourself?

Seriously? Can you fill up your tub and do it, do you have to join a church or get a preacher to do it, is there a way you can do it solely? It really is between you and God anyway, I know it's a public expression thing, but I don't know anyone who cares.

Well you dont need to join a church to do it, but it IS a public profession of faith, kinda hard to do by yourself. However, Ill have to say it wouldnt hurt you to try it. Worst that would happen is you get wet. Who knows? Maybe you will have a very spiritual experience from it.

1st of all if you are being baptized into a church membership. Find another church. There is 1 baptisim. I'd encouge you to talk to a Bible believing Pastor get involved & do it that way. There are people who care. I care. Finally If you really want I don't think there is anything wrong w/ doing it yourself. It is a heart matter that is between you & Him.

The way that you have it done is by someone else doing the dunking. The church is not a lone ranger operation. We rely on each other for many things including baptism.

Catholics believe in the Baptism of Desire. It applies if there is no priest or deacon or other Christian who is able to baptize you. It doesn't apply very often, since the circumstances would have to be extraordinary. It also applies to those who, through no fault of their own, have never heard the Gospel. If they live the appropriate kind of life, they can be considered baptized and can even go to heaven.

    No, you cannot

A baptism is for a non Christian to become a Christian.

ANY Christian ( not just the preacher ) can baptize someone into Christ.

So, if you are not a Christian , you need a Christian to help you out there

Yes. Baptism is a full immersion in water. Although, traditionally, this is done as a sign, to other believers, to your faith in what they believe. Now, if you believe in a church of one then you need only to be willing to baptize yourself and then do it.

In our prayer book is a service in which someone who has been baptized can baptize someone else. But keep in mind, even Jesus didn't baptize Himself. John the Baptist did it.
