Chavs, do we all hate them, and do they know the impression they give out?

I live in an ok place, and the people seem to be alright, but then we get the occasional group of chavs who give you abuse as you walk past them. Why do they do this, and can they not see that they are just scum bags??

Update:

A chav is someone who dresses in trakky bottoms, fake burberry hats and scarves, big fake bling gold jewellery. They exist in England. They act like they are the hardest people on the earth, are loud and spit all the time!
