How is matrine oxidized to produce oxymatrine? What is is reaction formula? Which groups of matrine is the most easy oxidized ?

Update:

A oxidation peak at about 0.8 V is found for the electrochemical research of matrine. What's the possible product and reaction formala? Thanks a lot

In vivo, by enzymes and the like. Chemically, I guess you could use something like mCBPA or similar.

The basic formula for the reaction is R3N + [O] -> R3N=O (not really a double bond, more an N-oxide, with a formal +ve charge on the nitrogen and a -ve one on the oxygen.

You can see the two structures at the cited page

After your electrochemical part, possibly something to do with the amide, though I'm not 100% sure on this
