Can you put xp professional upgrade in xp home disc?

I know you can put sp2 updates in the xp discs and make a new disc cause ive done that. i just was wondering if you basicaly could turn your xp home disc into an xp professional disc so you only had to install one disc instead of putting in the pro upgrade.

No... XP PRO is an chargeable upgrade. Service Pack 2 is a free upgrade (it better be, it's mostly bug fixes)

Not exactly. However, you can boot off of the Pro Upgrade and it will then prompt you for a previous install OS to upgrade from. At that point, just put in the home CD.

The other option is buy the XP Pro media and just use the key from XP Pro upgrade.

The improve disc improvements from Win98/ 2000/ME. so that you're perfect formating and setting up the improve from there. no want to position in win ninety 8, as part of the technique of XPs setup is to prompt for a win98 CD. To be straightforward its likely no longer fairly well worth the attempt, professional version purely has some extras for place of work/networking. i'm very suprised that your 'new' computer has XP on it in any respect. maximum have Vista those days, so that you've bought previous inventory...

Unfortuanly, no. XP Pro and XP Home edition are not interconnectable.

Although, if you need an update, just look for a little yellow shield in your task bar (if updates are avalible). Click it, and it will upgrade your computer.
