I am a Huge Steak eater. I have found the best side dish that pleases everyone is a very simple Dish. Roasted Red Potatoes Quarter 3 lbs of Red Creamers and place into a large bowl. Then cut one large onion into bite size pieces and add to the bowl. Then take liberal amounts of olive oil and and pour over the potato/onion mixture and mix with your hands, making sure to coat all of the potatoes and onions. Then add some garlic salt to the mix and spread the mixture onto a baking sheet evenly. You will then cook them, uncovered, in the oven at 350 for about 1 1/2 hours. Make sure to stir the potatoes every 30 minutes to cook evenly. They will come out crispy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside. This is a very easy recipe to make and goes great with steak. For a veggie I would grill some fresh asparagus . Yummy!

    Potatoes Boulangere....try this

Peel and slice 2/3 potatoes and combine in a bowl with 1 small sliced onion. Add 1 tsp chopped parsley, 1/4 tsp salt, and a little ground pepper. Spread mixture in a shallow baking dish about 1/2" thick, dot with 3tbsp butter, and add 1/4 cup of boiling water. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes, or until they are brown and crusty on top and the water is absorbed. Serves 2

I like potatoes, baked is good, but extra crispy fries are best. To get them good and crispy, cook them in your deep fryer at 325F until they are just starting to turn. Remove and let drain in the basket. As soon as they have drained until dry and heat is back up to 325F drop them back into the fryer and cook until browned properly. This will leave the inside tender and the outside nice and crispy.

Try Butter (NOT margarine) as a steak sauce.

I season my steak with garlic salt, and cayenne pepper, grill to medium rare, then top with butter as soon as it hits the plate.

Frankly that is enough for a great meal, but if you want more, try adding some Asparagus.

Or if you want to keep it simple and still yummy, Green Giant Broccoli and Cheese. Heats up in the microwave quickly and their is better than other brands.

    Don't forget you favorite beverage.

Bon Jour, Chef Mercury ! Steak is chewy, so you need to add a crunchy food AND a softer food. You also need colour contrast. The reason why steak is usually served with a green salad, and grilled/baked/mashed potatoes is for the texture difference and colour contrast ...... If you want to do something out of the ordinary, I suggest : 1. celery stalks stuffed with feta cheese as an appetizer (sprinkle a dash of paprika on top for colour)

    2. grilled steak, corn on the cob ( find out how to grill it with your steaks simultaneously at http://barbeque.allrecipes.com/az/GrilldCrnnthCb.a... ), cold potato salad, asparagus topped with Hollandaise sauce as the main course (sauce recipe is online at http://southernfood.about.com/od/saucerecipes/r/bl...

It might be considered adulterous to a conscientious chef to serve steak without a nice, red wine (not too sweet). The perfect dessert is prepared much later (with your guests) for their entertainment :roasted marshmallows.

If you do not have a lot of experience cooking, it is best to write out a complete schedule of what, how much, when. Organization is a key ingredient for any chef. I hope you have a lot of fun. Good Luck !

    anything & everything!!!

want steak to taste good use Olive oil. Do a dry rub 1st before that & you have your self very good steak my friend.

Use POP/Soda (Cherry is good, COKE diet) & add spices garlic is must & other stuff. Crazy good!!! The meat gets very soft this way with touch of the flavour. Can do with liquer too, but much more expensive.

go to a good grocery and get brocolini, not broccoli and wash it good. in a large saucepan coat with olive oil and cut up garlic thin and heat on med-low. add the brocolini and toss. add salt, garlic salt or powder and keep tossing/coating. don't leave it in the pan too long...it should not be too soaked or overcooked. just before you take it out squeeze a 1/4 lemon over it and toss again.

it is so easy and so good.
