does it work?
i went to the nintendo web site and saw the wii, it said it does 4 gc controllers and 2 memory cards for gamecube. but does it play the games? if it does im gonna sell my gc and buy it!

Yes, the Wii will be backwards compatible - WHEN it launches this fall. Right now the rumors are for an October or November release. It will support Game Cube games, and apparently/hopefully it will have a large archive of Nintendo games from even older systems (N64, SNES, NES) available through a special service as well. Don't plan on selling your GC before the Wii releases, but at that point it's well worth it to upgrade.

yes it will run gamecube games. however, don't sell your cube yet. the Wii won't be out til later this year. there's no official release date, but i'm hearing rumors of an october release.
