D. None of the above.
Marriage is a legal ot social institution created to protect the children, if there are any. That implies it is a social contract between a man and a woman who could potentially procreate and have children. It can also be used to protect the wife in more traditional societies where women have less rights and are not given as much freedom.

For me A. "Marriage is a religious/spiritual bond uniting God, Man, & Woman."

C is the ideal choice, A may be more pragmatic; B just plain sucks; and D is probably the high impact hitter in this field. That's what the old rocky road of life has shared with me so far at any right.

My answer is "D."
Perhaps I'm a bit biased because of my failed marriage, but I agree with Oscar Wilde. To paraphrase, he said that bigamy is the concept that you are involved with one woman too many, and marriage is the same... ;)
