this has to do with what you both ate. different foods make farts less intense than others. it all depends on how your body breaks down its waste products. more waste, more smell

For some reason, your own farts do not smell as bad as the farts of other people. Maybe because you are used to the smell. Maybe your farts smell bad to your girlfriend as well. You may just think they smell bad because you are not used to them.
