How can a 15 year old lose weight before school starts on Sept. 5?

At school I've always been a bit over weight and I'm sick of it. My friends are all losing weight and I've tried but I just can't seem to get results. I want to shock everyone when we go back. Ideas?

    Get a gym membership, and excercise. Sitting on the comp asking questions won't help you get there.

    Just being more active will get there. Just don't expect miracles!! You won't change overnight. Afterall, it took you 15 years to get where you are at now.

    There are no magical pills. I've been able to lose 20 pounds in a few months. 15 pounds in two months will be hard, I don't recommend it. the secret is to do more than you think you can. lots more. My recommendation is runs and sprints for the next few weeks(secret, ignore your mind and the pain it tells you if you start to heave slow down cause if you go full speed after heaving you've only got twenty minutes of consciousness) next I recommend varied run lengths between 2-5 miles, after a run take a short break and work on sprints etc. This will help lose lower stomach/leg/*** fat. then spend the next 2-3 hours doing muscle gaining excercises(weightlifting doesn't count). repeat this for a while. It will start to get easier and you'll lose weight and feel healthier. another thing diet wise is I recommend plenty of vegetables. eat meat and carbs for meals closer to your work out. try not to eat just before a work out or it'll hurt. about an hour before is good.

    honey you are only 15 dont worry so much about your weight. YOU ARE YOU. Learn to love all of yourself because you are unique there is no one in this whole wide world like you. Thats awesome! dont you agree? I know its hard because you are young and body image is everything at 15, but if you really feel you need to lose weight maybe talk to your parents about it. Support makes all the difference. Let them know your trying to lose weight ask them for support in making proper food choices. Watch what you eat and why you eat. Alot of times people eat to cure sadness, boredom, happiness, etc. Try to excercise more even if its just walking to school and back, or walking the pet, riding a bike. do anything to get your body moving more.     If you can purchase something to aid you, Diet Power is a great software for PC that helps you track the right amount of calories you need to eat in order to lose weight safely.

    How many calories you need to cut out of your eating in order to lose weight depends on how tall you are and how much you weigh.

    Also, in exercise, you consume more calories if you're heavier. So, if you're quite chubby, a great way to start is to go for a walk.

    Just take it slow, and don't do it to "shock others" but do it to make yourself healthier.

    Make sure you don't go below a BMI of 18

    You don't have to get a gym membership, you can do a lot of things on your own, like walk a minimun of 30 minutes every day, or by your age I guess you like video games, if you do, there is this dancing game with the pad, you hook it to you ps2 or gamecube whatever you have and start dancing, you'll have tons of fun while you loose the weight. Good luck, just remember Don't starve yourself, think in eating right, stop the junk food, don't eat to much pasta and bread, that helps a lot.

    Also a detox diet of strained soup and water for about 3/4 days to clear impurities in your system. (Don't do it any longer than 4 days as it will cause havoc with your system, and you probably shouldn't leave the house whenever you're doing the detox diet).

    ride a bike for a couple miles every day, i say this alot but it rele works, drink plenty of water, and dont do the vegitarian thing it doesnt work. it is healthier to to ride a bike or a bike in a gym because unlike not eating it turns the fat into muscle if u dont eat protein u will lose weight but it will be terrible unhealthy

    don't eat any candy at all, and if you are hungry and it is between one of the 3 meals drink a big glass of water and if you are still hungry eat some fruit and try running or walking every night. o yea, make sure and eat breakfast b-cuz other wise you might get hungry during the day and eat something that is bad 4 u.

  • Try becoming a vegetarian. You lose a LOT of weight that way. Try exercising too

    A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER:

    The correct way to burn fat and stay healthy is to burn more calories than you consume

    You need to make sure you are eating healthy foods while still excercising

    If you have a big appetite drink plenty of water so that you will feel full but not consume calories

    But you should always eat

    If you start to skip meals you will only be more hungry at your next meal and probably eat way too much

    Remember, the average persons stomach is as big as a slice of pizza scrunched up into a ball

    So you shouldnt be putting more food into your stomach than what fits

    Also, it takes aproximately 15-20 minutes for your brain to realize that you are full

    so eat slower and you will realize sooner when you are not hungry anymore
