What are the differences between jambalaya and gumbo?

The recipes look identical, once you consider that there is flexibility in the ingredients. I know gumbo has file, but both can and do have okra which performs the same function.

jambalaya has the rice cooked right in there. Gumbo you eat over rice. I don't put that ole nasty okra in my jambalaya.
