The website describes how the guy used Brasso to clean his iPod. He first tried it with his old iPod, and it didn't do any damage. He then tried it with his iPod Nano, and it cleaned it up a lot, without any visible damage or sound damage. He hasn't complained about it yet, so I don't think there is much chance of damage.

Brasso is a very mild abrasive and it's only a metal polish, so it shouldn't damage your iPod. Just don't use it near the cracks or on the touch pad. Also, be very gentle and rub lightly.
