I know that in Australia you need to print ABN number in the invoice. Should they print ACN also?

A company's ABN will be its ACN plus a couple of 'check' digits. If the ABN is used, the ACN need not also be used.

But be careful of the situations where a company is acting as trustee of a trust. In that case it is PROBABLY appropriate to cite the company's ACN and the trust's ABN.

In some cases someone can be in business without getting an ABN. See the ATO website for details.

Source(s): http://ato.gov.au/ For details, look under "For Business", then "Applying for an ABN" and "GST Essentials".

Well they need an ABN to file. Don't they? Better talk to an accountaroo.

ABN is compulsory. If you have an ACN, then this is also compulsory.
