You have to apply at the unemployment office in your city/state. It's easy, but you should probably try to go at least a half-hour before they open to avoid possible lines and a long wait. The critera mainly involves having worked for the past 6 months steadily, whether it's one job or a combination of jobs. If you quit your last job, you might not be able to collect, but if you were laid off, or fired unjustly, you'll be fine.

First you have to be fired or laid-off. You cannot collect if you quit your job. Then you have to go to your local unemployment office (on online if available) and file the necessary paperwork. You will usually wait 4-6 weeks in most cases to get a check.

Depends on what state you're from. In Michigan, if you've worked at least 13 weeks of the year, you're eligible to draw checks. You sign up either by phone, or on-line. No need to go to the unemployment office anymore.

First you have to qualify. If you have a workforce center near you, or are in a state where it is handled in one facility, you need to find that number. It's usually an 800 number. Check out the website below. The actual process varies a bit state by state.

In the US, you have to have worked for 26 consecutive weeks in order to be eligible for a claim. You have to go to your local unemployment office to file a claim. If you got fired or let go, they will most likely give it to you, if you quit, they won't, because you refused work.

Depends wher eyou are. In the US you search for an unemployment office and fill out their paper work. After they research your claim you are notified if you will receive benefits or not.
