學　　名：Chironex fleckeri Southcott

英 文 名：Sea- wasp, Box jellies

日 文 名：

俗　　名：澳洲海黃蜂

形態特徵：此水母係箱形水母的近緣種，兩者外形相似，傘部無色透明呈鐘

狀，一般高約20公分，有四條黃褐色的觸手可長達數公尺。

分　　佈：澳洲附近的西太平洋海域。

毒　　性：具猛烈毒性，是有毒水母中毒性最強，致死率最高，毒素為多種

蛋白質組成，毒成分因研究者不同而異，部分學者認為應包括分

子量600,000和150,000且具肌肉收縮毒性作用的蛋白質，分子量

150,000且具神經毒性的蛋白質，以及分子量70,000且具溶血毒

性的蛋白質。

Here are the search results from yahoo by typing in "box jellies".http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=box+jellies&sm=Ya... far as I remember, some people died from one of the box jelly stungs since it is extremely poisonous. One of the site should discuss in detail about the danger of those jellies.I hope this is what you are looking for.
